Matt has been practicing law since 1997. He attended Transylvania University, the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. Immediately upon passing the bar, he was hired by the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office as a trial court prosecutor and tried his first jury trial three weeks later. Since then, he has been promoted to every position the office has to offer. In addition to his public service, Matt went into private practice and spent the better part of two decades at the law firm of Naber & Joyner, where he focused on bankruptcy, debt restructures, property law and personal injury. He joined the firm of Daniels & Associates in 2015 as a partner. Over the years, he obtained many favorable verdicts and settlements for his private clients. Matt is most proud of a six-figure judgment and recovery against a mortgage company for fraud and a 3.85 million dollar settlement for personal injuries against a trucking company.
Matt was named Civil Division Director for the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office in 2015. As a result, he is not taking new cases at this time and will consult only on a current client referral basis.
Matt’s wife, Micah, supervises him both at work and at home. She is assisted in her efforts by their three children. They will, hopefully, join the practice at some later date and love the law as much as their mom, dad and grandparents do.
